If you are looking to entertain your child with some great animated dog movies then here is the list we compiled for you. If your kid is in the age group of 5-6 years, they are gonna like it a lot. Great Animated dog movies for Kids

1. 101 Dalmetians (1961)

MPAA Rating: G Common Sense Media rating:  5/5 Star   Age 5+

This Disney animation classic features plenty of pooches and your child is going to love it.  however, the movie also features Disney’s one of the vilest villain Cruella de vile – “if she doesn’t scare you, no evil thing will.” Cruella can be quite frightening to kids and there is a fair bit of suspense.  if your kids can survive that, they will enjoy it.

2. Lady and the Tramp (1955)

MPAA Rating: PG Common Sense Media rating:  5/5 Star   Age 5+

The movie follows the life of a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady and a tough stray mutt named Tramp. It is one of the milder Disney movies with no clear villain. So this should suit our viewers well. Created to entertain, this richly-colored animation is sure to catch your baby’s eyes.

3. Snoopy Come Home (1972)

MPAA Rating: G Common Sense Media rating:  5/5 Star   Age 5+
This full-length peanuts featured film is the second of the franchise. After receiving a letter from his previous owner Laila, our favorite beagle Snoopy with his little yellow bird sidekick Woodstock journeys to meet her in the hospital. With no clear villain and less scary stuff, this one could be a great choice for your kids.

4. Bolt (2008)

MPAA Rating: PG Common Sense Media rating: 4/5 Star   Age 5+
‘Canine superstar’ Bolt doesn’t know that he is part of a TV show and thinks his power is real Unltill he is accidentally shipped to the streets of new york. Then he makes an incredible adventure filled journey back home accompanied by a cat and a hamster to find his owner, Penny. Kids are definitely gonna want to see this movie again and again.

5. The Fox and the Hound (1981)

MPAA Rating: G Common Sense Media rating:  4/5 Star   Age 6+
The Fox and the hound is a fun family film that is full of adventure. It is the story about a fox pup named Tod and a hound dog pup named cooper. Though this Disney movie received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences, it sure will be able to hold the attention of your kids.

6. Balto (1995)

MPAA Rating: G Common Sense Media rating:  3/5 Star   Age 6+
This is an animation based on the heroic serum run to Nome. When the isolated Alaskan town of nome is swept by the deadly disease diphtheria, the only way to deliver the life-saving serum is via a long and dangerous trail via which the sled led by Balto must travel. Parents must know that this fact-based movie is fun but thrilling and tense.

7. Mr. Peabody and Sherman (2014)

MPAA Rating: G Common Sense Media rating:  5/5 Star   Age 5+
This is a fabulously entertaining movie about ‘A dog and his boy‘. This Science fiction themed animated movie that has plenty of ‘history’ characters is sure to trigger a few grey cells in your kids.

8. The Secret Life of Pets

MPAA Rating: G Common Sense Media rating:  4/5 Star   Age 7+
This is a fast-paced beautifully animated cheerful and funny movie about a spoilt terrier and an unruly adopted canine. Based in new york, this movie captures whats pets like dogs, cats birds do when we are not around – the secret life of pets. 

9. All Dogs go to Heaven (1989)

MPAA Rating: PG Common Sense Media rating:  3/5 Star   Age 8+

This animation movie shows a dog as a casino owner who is killed by gangsters. He returns from heaven to plot revenge with help of an orphan girl. Though this movie is rated G, it shows dogs in the gangster era and they lie, steal drink commit arson kill, etc. There are also scenes in which dogs in the casino get extremely drunk.
